HIGHLIGHTING AN INDIGENOUS AIRPLANE COMPANY WITH A MISSION

Northern Air Rescue

VISUAL IDENTITY, ILLUSTRATIONS, MOTION GRAPHIC DESIGN, UX DESIGN, UI DESIGN

Northern Air Rescue is a 13-part documentary series following the day-to-day operations of Missinippi Airways. The goal was to create a visual identity, as well as a website to provide users with immersive contents not seen in the episodes (both in English and in Cree).

*Project as part of Denman Digital.

VISUAL IDENTITY

Working with the documentary filmmakers, we developed a visual identity that captured the essence of Northern Air Rescue – a lifeline, serving northern communities, flying through the beauty of the North. The concept is using the magic and dynamic aurora borealis.

WEBSITE

The website showcases the mission and importance of the lifeline through videos, illustrations and interactive storytelling. It features information about the broadcast time, video trailer, as well as six interactive stories. A visual design system was established to guide the user throughout, and audio tracks are playing along for a more immersive experience.

ILLUSTRATIONS

Illustrations of maps and airplanes were created to help the user better situate the place of airports in the main cities featured in the show and the type of planes used.
