TELLING STORIES ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF PLACEFar Away From Far Away
NAVIGATION DESIGN, UI DESIGNFar Away From Far Away is an interactive story, only for mobile, produced by the National Film Board of Canada. It tells the story of a young girl growing up on the remote Fogo island with her father during the 1960s and ’70s. We were asked to design elements of the piece, the navigation, and some screens for loading, opening chapters and about.

For the navigation, we focused on creating an intuitive navigation that would not look like your typical interface. Each circle represents a chapter and the user is invited to press on to access it.
